Calgary/ Banff July 17′

The Calgary Stampede is one of the best rodeos I’ve ever been to, and it was icing on the cake that my friend won the $100,000 in barrel racing and set a new arena record! The whole city is about this rodeo, and for such a big rodeo, it definitely has that small town feel.

Of course while in Calgary, we had to check out Banff, the Fairmont is incredible and even though we didn’t plan on hiking this much, we ended up doing about ten miles because everything was just so beautiful! I recommend that everyone visits Lake Louis and spends some time in the actual town of Banff. We hiked all around Lake Louis, Mirror Lake and the Bee Hives. Five stars for sure!

Some shots from the rodeo and chuck wagon races…

I hope to go back to Alberta and head all the way to Jasper National Park. Canada is truly a beautiful place, I call them the “Real Mountains” because they are so big!
